Information

- - - on our greatest asset - - - our people

We have an excellent team of employed staff, visiting health professionals and voluntary helpers. The people who work with us come from differing backgrounds and draw on a wide range of expertise built up over many years.

At our Dundee Centre all that knowledge comes together with the common aim of ensuring a better quality of life for anyone in the area who has Multiple Sclerosis.

Here is the background to some of the people you will meet.

Steve Millar is our centre Manager.

Alwyn Vaughan is our full time HBO chamber operator and commenced this role from November 2004. He understands and implements the need for being calm, friendly and helpful and it is Alwyn who will guide you through the use of the chamber, answering your queries and allaying any fears you may have about going ahead with HBO treatment.
A father to three children (twin daughters and a son) doesn't leave Alwyn much 'spare time' but he does enjoy fishing, following his local football team and listening to a variety of music styles.
( his very favourite pastime is eating all types of jelly sweets )

Carole Morrison is our Centre Administrator, working 9.30am to 4.00pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Whether it is a general query from a patient or a visitor, or a question about fund raising, she will be happy to help you.

Sunita

Sunita D'souza is our qualified Physiotherapist. Sunita works 30 hours per week which includes alternate Saturday morning. This makes it possible for those working or who have weekday transport difficulties to still experience the benefits physiotherapy can bring.
Sunita is also qualified to assess, fit and carry out on going monitoring of a D.F.S. ( dropped foot stimulator ) to those members whom require to use this specialised equipment.

Visiting Professionals

Professor Philip James, one of our "founding fathers", has become a world-renowned expert in Oxygen therapy. Though he travels widely, Philip remains a Dundee resident and is available for consultation in special situations. Volunteers always welcome - contact Carole Morrison

Moira Elder is one of our volunteers - you too could come along and help.

Around 30 voluntary helpers undertake various duties - volunteers make drinks after patients come out of chamber or physio sessions, chat with patients etc. Volunteers also cover yoga and swimming sessions.

Also welcome would be anyone over the age of 18yrs who would like to become a second operator, again, contact CAROLE
